YOGA PHILOSOPHY OR QUOTE THAT YOU LIVE BY: If yoga is a metaphor for life, it’s bound to get messy, and that’s okay.

If the possibility exists, then why not seize the opportunity.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT TEACHING YOGA: I find immense joy in facilitating the connection between emotional awareness and movement during yoga sessions. Our practice on the mat has a direct impact on our lives, way beyond the physical benefits —when we sync our movements with our feelings, we experience a transformative shift. Through challenging ourselves, embracing determination, shedding doubt, taking risks, extending grace, and releasing self-imposed limitations, we lay the foundation for positive change. I am passionate about imparting these invaluable lessons and providing a safe space for people to practice life on the mat, to embrace their fullest potential off the mat.

SONG THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO PRACTICE: Anything by Rüfüs Du Sol and Lindsey Stirling

WHAT DOES YOUR IDEAL DAY OFF LOOK LIKE? My ideal day off begins with a yoga session, followed by leisurely shopping with my daughter for nothing specific. The evening is spent with my family, relaxing in the sunshine on the deck, appreciating the serene view of nature, and listening to the soothing sounds of the stream. And, of course, the 4 cats are there too. To me, that is perfection.

DESCRIBE YOUR TEACHING STYLE: Powerful and challenging, yet accessible. My aim is to combine the strength-building aspects of yoga with accessible practices, to ensure that each person can harness their own power while navigating challenges effectively.

YOGA PHILOSOPHY OR QUOTE THAT YOU LIVE BY:  I don't have a quote that comes to mind, but if I had to summarize how I live is that I am fully committed to living in complete dedication to being my most authentic self in all ways even the quirky weird and very human ones. I encourage all those in my classes to do the same. I may give suggestions and share my experience but I honor the wisdom that is within each of us and bow to that wisdom. Om Namo Guru Dev Namo

FAVORITE THING ABOUT TEACHING YOGA: Community and connection with people.

SONG THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO PRACTICE: Honestly, when I practice I love practicing with the sound of the outdoors. Nature has its sweet sounds.

WHAT DOES YOUR IDEAL DAY OFF LOOK LIKE?  I actually create my life to live like I’m always on vacation. My days off and my days of working look a lot the same because I love it all! I do love to travel and I do that often!

DESCRIBE YOUR TEACHING STYLE: The alchemy of all my 28 years of studying yoga, my own curiosities on the mat at the time, and what life is asking me to work through my body and share…vinyasa, hatha, kundalini, energy work and body exploration and astrology in motion.

YOGA PHILOSOPHY OR QUOTE THAT YOU LIVE BY: “We think that the point is to pass the test or overcome the problem, but the truth is that things don't really get solved. They come together and they fall apart. Then they come together again and fall apart again. It's just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy.” -Pema Chödrön

FAVORITE THING ABOUT TEACHING YOGA: Helping people becoming increasingly intimate with who they truly are. Giving them time and space to be alive in their own skin, live to the beat of their own natural rhythms, explore their inner world. It’s the privilege of a lifetime.

SONG THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO PRACTICE: Love Song by MARDELEVA

WHAT DOES YOUR IDEAL DAY OFF LOOK LIKE? An empty calendar with my family by my side along for the ride wherever the wind blows. OR skiing...

YOGA PHILOSOPHY OR QUOTE THAT YOU LIVE BY: “Spiritual life may seem complicated, but in essence it is not. We can find a clarity and simplicity even in the midst of this complex world when we discover that the quality of heart we bring to life is what matters most.“ – Jack Kornfield

FAVORITE THING ABOUT TEACHING YOGA: I find deep fulfillment and connection when holding the space for others to slow down, get curious, and deeply connect with themselves. I am honored to witness and share the transformative effects that practicing yoga can have one’s healing journey. Walking alongside a student as they develop their capacity to experience life force is deeply gratifying. Cultivating their ability to harness that inner resource, to navigate their challenges more skillfully and with more ease, empowerment, grace and understanding brings me deep contentment. I think ultimately being with others as they come back home to themselves, that inner essence ever-present but not always accessible, again and again, is the gift.

SONG THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO PRACTICE: Making Space by Marti Nikko & DJ Drz

WHAT DOES YOUR IDEAL DAY OFF LOOK LIKE? An ideal day off is one with a loose agenda that includes adventure, connection and comfort. It may look something like rising at dawn with some quiet and warm tea and my yoga mat for a short practice. A light breakfast. Then a hike in the morning with my dog & husband, lunch at a nearby brewery or artisan café (maybe meeting friends) where we can comfortably sit outside. If time allows, either an afternoon movie or connection with fam or friends in a relaxed environment where we can play games together (cards, board games, video games or outdoor activity) and ending with a nourishing dinner meal. Bed by 9ish 😊.

DESCRIBE YOUR TEACHING STYLE: The aim of my teaching is to support my students in cultivating their container (body, breath, mind) to meet themselves with a curiosity, compassion, and empowerment. Ultimately to come back home to their essential wholeness, alongside the internal and external landscapes of life. I’m bringing more trauma informed yoga therapy training into my teachings, with adjacent healing modalities to inform and inspire. Whether the class be more vigorous or more restorative, I like to offer my supportive presence along with choice to cultivate a person’s agency. I welcome multiple limbs in the practice; mindfulness, breath, movement, focus and gentle inquiry to foster deeper listening and understanding. I tend to move between the yin and the yang, practices that move energy, sense into the aliveness, and create more spaciousness from the dense to the subtle to support the a clearer mind.

As my teaching and learning on my own journey continues to evolve, with intentional offerings I’m inviting more space for intuition and co-regulation to unfold. Trusting and allowing the yoga to move through. Might we discover our inner wisdom and let it manifest to care for our needs on and off the mat. More feeling, letting the doing be the opportunity to explore, to learn and to befriend what’s arising. Here we can connect, create, and meet life from that place that is a bit more kind, centered, wholehearted and clear.

Quinn Shuff Yoga Teacher

YOGA PHILOSOPHY OR QUOTE THAT YOU LIVE BY: Abhyasa & vairagya - practice and non-attachment.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT TEACHING YOGA: Connecting with the community of people I meet through yoga: students, teachers, and studio staff alike. I love seeing the same faces week-to-week and getting to know each other in a space where folks are inclined to meet themselves as they are and find peace and presence alongside others. I also love seeing new faces, people just beginning to explore embodiment through yoga. I feel like I get to play a role in people getting to know themselves better, and I like to do what I can to help folks take that journey with curiosity and interest. I feel very honored to be a part of that experience for people. I also LOVE the human body and I think it's so fun to learn more about it in my own practice and studies and get to translate that into classes for others.

SONG THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO PRACTICE: Honestly...silence. Yoga occurs to me when there's nothing left to distract me. It also pops up when I'm at my wit's end. I am so thankful for this practice.

WHAT DOES YOUR IDEAL DAY OFF LOOK LIKE? Spending time with my husband and baby, getting a massage, going for a nature walk around our neighborhood, reading in a hot bath, and watching one of our favorite TV shows (like the British version of Ghosts. :))

DESCRIBE YOUR TEACHING STYLE: Fundamentally, I teach embodiment within the framework of a yoga class. My goal is to help people cultivate an inquisitive, responsive, and loving relationship with themselves. I aim to make my classes accessible, designed for people who are interested in exploring the nuance of their own felt experience. When I teach a more active style of yoga, it tends to be slow-paced and educational, focused on feeling into and learning about certain parts of the body or uses of the breath. We spend about half the time in somatic exploration and half the time in asana. When I teach a passive style of yoga (Yin or Restorative), I teach the poses and offer a bit of guidance for relaxation and meditation, but then I try to keep quiet and give the room a break from talking so they simply hear the sounds of singing bowls or wooden flutes and have lots of room to just exist. In all my classes, I give clear verbal instructions with different options for the shapes, and I tend to use a lot of props!

YOGA PHILOSOPHY OR QUOTE THAT YOU LIVE BY: It’s your mat, your movement.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT TEACHING YOGA: I teach yoga to find connection. When a room full of people all breathe at the same time, doing the same movements, in time with one another, we create an energy larger than the sum of us as individuals. It’s a great privilege as a teacher to get to facilitate that.
