300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Curriculum

Our 300hr Yoga Teacher Training Curriculum  is divided into mix + match quarters, perfect for the active teacher, committed professional, busy parent or anyone else looking to deepen their knowledge of how to be on and off the mat.

 

Each quarter will complete 45 hours of the total training


One 4 day immersion (30hrs)  

4 weekday lectures/workshops (3 hours each = 12 hours)

Q1 2019

EVOLVE: The Emotional Anatomy of Yoga with jill case

Feb 28th-March 3rd (Thu 6:30pm-9:30pm / Fri 12:00pm-8:00pm / Sat + Sun 9:00am-7:00pm)

Most of us begin our yoga journey working with the physical body, familiarizing ourselves with the physical anatomy and the poses themselves. As our practice evolves, we are invited into a relationship with the emotional aspects the practice. Just as yoga offers us the opportunity to heal physically, creating strength and mobility where we once were fragile and stiff, the practice can also help us experience healing in the emotional layers of our beings.

In this weekend intensive, learn to utilize the practice to gain deeper insight into how the emotional layers and the physical body are linked together. Instead of turning away from what we feel, lean in and listen. Join Jill as she guides you into deep inquiry, helping you become aware of how unprocessed emotions are stored within and how to heal from the inside out

How To Learn to be STILL: Yin & Restorative Yoga with tori g newburn

In this balancing workshop, Tori will guide you through an exploration into the intense power of the quieter practices. Through rich discussion, you will understand why both Yin and Restorative Yoga are essential for a full spectrum approach to Contemporary Yoga.  Uncover the physical asana, energetics and philosophies behind these transformative practices.  Leave with confidence and the tools necessary to incorporate these practices into your ways of teaching and being.

Asana Breakdown Heart Wide Open:  BACK BENDING! with ian lemasters

March 31st 2-5pm

Backbending, when done with intention and intelligence, is both an energizing and soothing aspect of a complete yoga practice. In this comprehensive workshop, Ian will help you discover how to work safely through warm-up, preparation and spinal extension while maintaining awareness and strength for a sustainable backbend practice.  Open your heart to the experience and feel your power!

Why we Teach Embrace the Energy! with isabel allen

April 14th 2-5pm

As teachers, we teach in in various settings.  Each class unique, each student individual.  While some classes bring dynamic energy, others conjure feelings of calm.

Join Isabel for a lively discussion as she breaks down her impeccable ability to hold the energy of a class no matter what the setting. Learn distinct differences for the needs of beginner, private, weekly and special classes and how to set the tone, honor the transitions, trust your intuition and empower your students. Through dynamic exploration, you will learn to “read and feed” the situation while gaining the skills necessary to alter your sequence and your energy to authentically engage your students and offer them a personalized experience.

Calling all Teachers! An essential aspect of your teaching offering, is your ability to dive deeper with students in longer format sessions. In this workshop - we will learn how to build a workshop and take that next step in advancing your teaching. We will break down optimal experiences, importance of worksheets and handout, necessary embodiment of concepts, ritual experiences, and the nuts and bolts of how to hold attention and interest over a longer period of time!

KUNDALINI RISING with WAH KHALSA

May 16-19th

Calling all Seekers! Join Wah for a transformational weekend of Kundalini yoga! This is a wonderful immersion is an opportunity to try the yoga you have been hearing so much about and with one of the best teachers in Portland. This immersion is about personal transformation, deepening our core capacity and consciousness. In these 30 hours, Wah will take you on a journey through the ancient science of Kundalini Yoga offering you an in-depth understanding of the vast technology of Kundalini Yoga and how it can work to enhance your life. We will challenge ourselves and confront self-imposed limits, going inward to experience our soul and expand into our highest and purest consciousness. We will leave the course with gained knowledge and confidence to build a more peaceful and creative life.

Asana Breakdown Invert Yo!Self: Headstands & Shoulderstands with ian lemasters

June 2nd 2-5pm

Considered  the “King” and “Queen” of Yoga Asana, headstand and handstand offer a bevy of rewards for the dedicated practitioner.  In this workshop, you will discover why these challenging postures are significant for a full spectrum yoga practice. Through demonstration and physical exploration, you will experience advanced techniques and the alignment necessary to perform these challenging asanas.  Learn how to warm-up, build- up, and get your courage up to go upside down while offering posture modifications for students with shoulder and neck sensitivity.

As we come to the floor, we are ready to explore the postures that lengthen and strengthen our bodies and engage our focus at the deepest levels. This is where the Yoga begins.

In this weekend immersion, Tori will dive into differing philosophies discuss energies of the body and how to harness our power. You will learn to pinpoint direct connections to your yoga asana practice as we move, breathe, discuss and experience PRANA, the life force that connects us all.

Asana Breakdown And we all Fall Down!  Shavansana with ian lemasters

January 5th, 2020 2-5pm

Yoga begins when the mind gets quiet, when the body get still, and the breath returns to natural state of being.  For many, this can be the most difficult practice of all.

In this workshop we will learn the importance of balancing your body, your energies, and your mental state of being to prepare you for re-entry. In this impassioned workshop, Ian will lead you through various styles of finishing poses and discuss why and when they are situationally appropriate.  In detail, we will uncover proper form as well as intentional techniques to create an impactful ending of class.

Anatomy of Asana with Ian

March 8th 1-7pm

Asana is the vehicle of the body. When we learn to unlock the key aspects and primary movers of the postures a whole new experience develops on the mat. Whether is be during a flow, balancing or stillness, the mechanisms of the body can be turned on in ways that provides a deeper experience of this physical form. 

Rock your Props with Alesha

March 22nd 1-7pm

As teachers, we see students struggle to fit their “imperfect” bodies into "perfect" shapes. As students we shy from the tools that brings ease and steadiness- PROPS! Join Alesha as she takes out the struggle and brings on the strength, clarity and spaciousness. Learning to “Rock’ Your Props”, brings ease, steadiness, and self acceptance in your own practice and will enable your students to SOAR!

We'll explore:

    • why students don't use props,

    • the psychology around props and how to support a positive relationship w/props

    • the anatomy of props

    • how and when to use props in a vinyasa class

    • how to use props for support, strength and rest

Energetics of Pranayama and Meditation with Tori

Intentional pranayama and finding stillness in meditation are sometimes elusive in our practice and certainly in our lives. Considered “next level” yoga, these simple, yet not easy, higher-level breath and peace practices provide us with powerful tools as we journey through our yogic path. Learn techniques and teaching methodologies in this thorough, transformative exploration of the essence of yoga. This weekend will guide you into the energetic transformation discovered by simply closing your eyes and tuning into the powerful inner landscape of breath and stillness.

Kriyas and Chanting with Wah

June 28th 1-7pm

The vibrations of the body take us to the next level. Shared movement and shared voices help us connect. We see this often in our contemporary world from concerts, to dancing, to celebrations of many forms. In this 6 hour workshop, Wah will explore the ancient roots of these practices and how to experience the vibratory transformation both in personal and collective practice.

Trauma Informed Teaching with Carole Moritz

July 12th 1-7pm

Holding safe space is an essential aspect of teaching contemporary yoga. Many of us hold traumas - see or unseen - that might be triggered during a group or personal asana practice.  As we look toward this practice and its potential for healing, it is our role as a teachers to create safe space for our students to navigate what rises. It could be a simple as refraining from certain words of phrases, or choosing to use with intention, to be more inclusive. With years of teaching to different demographics in different settings, Carole has vast wisdom to share. Join her for this important and illuminating discussion.

Living your Life on Purpose with Alex and Terri

Why am I here? What is my purpose? WHEW! In the weekend immersion, we tackle the hard questions as together, we take a transformative journey of discovery. Alex and Terri will be your guides through significant discussions and a variety of interactive/ reflective exercises that are designed to expose your soul’s desire. Identify “right” actions that act as a catalyst to catapult you forward as you discover invaluable tools for pushing through obstacles. Live this one and only life… on purpose!

Messaging and Community Building with Isabel

September 27th 1-7pm

As we move from “the lost art of communication and connection”, students seek interaction with each other and often, with their yoga teacher. For many, connecting to community through yoga, becomes a ritual and an essential part of their weekly flow. And for some of us, the messaging in a yoga can be some of the most direction communication received! Join Isabel, to learn how to develop stimulating messaging and community for your students. Open, direct conversation will empower you to develop a safe space for your students to practice, explore feelings, be vulnerable and Soar!
